Privacy policy
Last updated 26 October 2026. This policy explains what personal data sounds-of-music.co.uk collects, why, and your rights under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
This website is operated by Centraserve Ltd, a company registered in England, which is the data controller for personal data collected through it. You can reach us about anything in this policy using our contact form.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our web server records technical details of each request: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working properly. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests. Logs are kept for up to 90 days and then deleted.
The contact form
If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address and message you send, so that we can reply. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (answering your enquiry). Messages are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. The form may use Google reCAPTCHA to tell people from automated spam. If it does, reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own for normal browsing, and it runs no analytics or advertising tracking. If you sign in to the site's admin area (staff only), a strictly necessary session cookie is used.
Amazon affiliate links
Some pages link to products on Amazon.co.uk. We are a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme. If you follow one of those links, Amazon may set cookies to record that you came from this site, so that we can earn a commission on qualifying purchases. That data is handled by Amazon under Amazon's Privacy Notice. Product images in those links are loaded from Amazon's servers.
Where data is stored
The website is hosted on servers in the United Kingdom, and traffic passes through Cloudflare's network for security and performance. We don't sell or share your personal data with anyone else.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, use the contact form. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
