Audience is an American company based in California known for cables, power conditioners and capacitors, and more recently for compact loudspeakers. It first became known for its Auricap capacitors, which were adopted by many manufacturers and DIY builders, and for the Au24 range of interconnects and speaker cables, which used ultra-pure conductors and distinctive construction. Its adeptResponse power conditioners, including the aR6 and aR12, were designed to filter mains noise without restricting the current available to amplifiers, and they were widely reviewed. Audience later introduced the ClairAudient loudspeakers, which use small full-range drivers in arrays to avoid crossovers between drivers. The company's products are generally associated with a clean, open and dynamic sound and with careful attention to component materials. Audience remains a small, specialist company with an international following. Its capacitors in particular are widely respected, and many owners upgrade older equipment with them to improve its sound. Its products are built in California.
