Kharma is a Dutch high-end loudspeaker company founded by Charles van Oosterum. Its speakers are known for using ceramic and, in its most expensive models, diamond drive units, materials that are extremely stiff and light and so produce very low distortion. Kharma's cabinets have a distinctive curved, sculpted look and are designed to reduce internal reflections and resonances. The range has included the Ceramique and Exquisite series, with the Midi Exquisite and Grand Exquisite among the best-known floorstanders, and statement models such as the Enigma Veyron, developed with the hypercar maker in mind. Kharma also makes amplifiers and cables designed to match its speakers. The company is based in the Netherlands and builds its products by hand there. Its speakers are associated with a highly detailed yet smooth sound and with expensive, statement-level systems, and they have been a frequent sight at major hi-fi shows in Europe and Asia. Its speakers are built to order.
