Avantgarde Acoustic is a German loudspeaker maker founded in 1991 and known for modern horn speakers. Horns can be extremely efficient and dynamic, but older designs were often criticised for colouration. Avantgarde's spherical horns, usually finished in bright colours, were designed to keep the benefits of horn loading while reducing the problems, and they give its speakers a very distinctive look. The company's best-known models are the Trio, a three-horn system often paired with large Basshorn modules for the lowest frequencies, and the smaller Duo and Uno, which combine horns with active, amplified subwoofers. Because horns are so efficient, Avantgarde speakers can produce high volumes from just a few watts, which has made them popular with users of low-power valve amplifiers. The company has also made its own amplification and active speakers such as the Zero. It builds its products in Germany, near Frankfurt. Its bold colours and shapes make its speakers among the most recognisable in high-end audio.

Proud of its efficiency of 102 dB, and proud of the homogenous sound quality of this system. TRIO Some things just cannot be understood at first glace. And to be honest, the TRIO with an efficiency of 107 dB is not absolutely essential for life.
But then there is the search for further technical possibilites, for the utmost feasibility and then products like the TRIO become reality.
