Audiaz is a small German loudspeaker maker from Bavaria. Its roots go back to 1995, when Helmuth Weber and Günter Hartl began developing speakers together, and around 2000 they formed a partnership to build them commercially. Audiaz is a specialist, high-end manufacturer that uses ceramic Accuton drive units, which are prized for their stiffness and low distortion, in carefully constructed cabinets. Its best-known models include the Cadenza and the Opera series of floorstanding speakers. Reviews have praised the speakers for their detail, speed and natural presentation. Like many small European loudspeaker makers, Audiaz builds in very small numbers and has relied on a handful of specialist dealers and distributors. Its current activity is not clear, and its speakers are rarely seen outside Germany and a few export markets. The brand's focus on ceramic drivers places it alongside other European makers who favour these materials for their low distortion. Its speakers are aimed at listeners who want a precise, transparent presentation, and they suit well-matched, high-quality electronics.

More about Audiaz

AudiaZ The history of AudiaZ dates back to Co-founder Helmuth Webers childhood. During his early schooldays he was fascinated by electronics and music and started off building and repairing speakers for musicians. In 1995 he met with fellow enthusiast Günter Hartl, who is a craftsman and expert for the construction of complex cabinet designs. Helmuth and Günter came together in 2000 and founded Hartl & Weber Audio-Design GbR.

This marked the beginning of designing and crafting handmade, exclusive loudspeakers. The aim was to create a loudspeaker which did not compromise on quality in any way.
