AVI is a British hi-fi brand associated with Ashley James, known for straightforward, well-engineered electronics and, later, active loudspeakers. In the 1990s and early 2000s its S2000 series, including the S2000MI integrated amplifier, S2000MC CD player, S2000MP preamplifier and S2000MT tuner, built a reputation for clean, accurate sound in plain, functional cases, and the company often argued against what it saw as audiophile myths.
