Founded1991

Cadence is an Indian maker of hybrid electrostatic loudspeakers. The company says it began in 1991 as a research unit dedicated to electrostatic transducer technology, opened a laboratory in Pune with an anechoic chamber in the mid-1990s, and launched its first loudspeaker, the Cadence ES, in 1997. Its speakers combine an electrostatic panel for the midrange and treble with a conventional dynamic driver for bass, an approach intended to keep the clarity of electrostatics while making the speakers easier to place and to drive. Cadence has worked on making its panels more efficient, more widely dispersing and more resistant to humidity and dust, which matter in India's climate. Its flagship Arca was reviewed by Hi-Fi News, and models such as the Anina and the entry-level Avita have been reviewed internationally. The company has also made valve amplifiers designed to partner its speakers. Its products are designed and made in India.

More about Cadence

Cadence A speaker from India? Yes that is true and certainly a bit of a surprise to some. It comprises a conventional base driver in a ported box but the midrange and top frequencies are handled by an electrostatic unit fixed to the top. A little unconventional in its looks but very appealing to many enthusiasts who appreciate something different without being too radical.

the performance is however, truly superb and a show stopper in every sense. The openness and size of the sound stage is one of the many superb points that the Cadence possesses. Electrostatic hybrids have suffered over the years with poor integration from the bass to the h igh frequencies but just as the Martin Logan range have succeeded, Cadence have also managed to integrate this system very well indeed.
