darTZeel is a Swiss amplifier maker based near Geneva, founded by the engineer Hervé Delétraz, who spent many years developing his amplifier design before bringing it to market in the early 2000s. Its first product, the NHB-108 power amplifier, attracted wide attention for its very simple circuit, with few gain stages and no global negative feedback, and for its distinctive styling in gold and red. darTZeel also developed its own connection standard for linking its preamplifiers and power amplifiers. The range has grown to include the NHB-18NS preamplifier, the large NHB-458 monoblocks and integrated amplifiers such as the CTH-8550 and LHC-208, the last also including streaming and digital inputs. darTZeel amplifiers are usually described as fast, transparent and natural, with a lifelike quality that has made them favourites of several reviewers. The company builds in small numbers in Switzerland. Its products are hand-assembled and tested individually, and the company has kept its range deliberately small.
