Echo Busters is an American maker of acoustic room treatment based in Deer Park, New York. Its products are panels and towers designed to control reflections and bass build-up in listening rooms and home cinemas, which are among the biggest influences on how a hi-fi system actually sounds. The range has included Echo Buster absorber panels, which soak up mid and high frequency reflections; Double Busters, which use a corrugated core to diffuse sound rather than simply absorb it; and Bass Busters, tall quarter-round towers designed to sit in room corners and tame low-frequency room modes. The panels are fabric-covered and available in a choice of colours, so they can blend into a domestic room. Echo Busters was reviewed in Stereophile and Sound & Vision, which praised the products as an affordable, effective way to improve room acoustics. Room treatment of this kind is often recommended before more expensive equipment upgrades.
