Eggleston Works is an American loudspeaker company based in Memphis, Tennessee, founded by William Eggleston III, son of the celebrated photographer William Eggleston. The company became widely known for the Andra, a floorstanding speaker with a marble-topped cabinet and very carefully engineered drivers and crossover, which won wide acclaim in the American hi-fi press and became one of the best-known American speakers of the late 1990s. The larger Savoy and the Andra II followed, along with more affordable models such as the Rosa, Ivy and Nico. Eggleston Works speakers are known for heavily braced, inert cabinets, careful driver selection and a sound described as full, natural and dynamic, with deep, controlled bass. The company builds its speakers by hand in Memphis and has continued to refine its classic designs over many years. Its speakers are built in limited numbers and finished to a high standard, and the company remains independent and family-led.
