Lumley, also known as Lumley Reference Systems, is a British hi-fi company known for valve amplifiers, loudspeakers and, above all, the Stratosphere turntable. Its valve power amplifiers, such as the M120 monoblocks, which used 6550 output valves, and larger 250 monoblocks, were built in small numbers for a select group of UK dealers, and the company also made valve preamplifiers. The smaller Heliosphere turntable offered some of the same ideas at a lower price. Lumley's products are rare and hand-built, and they have a dedicated following among British analogue and valve enthusiasts. Lumley products are closely associated with a small group of British dealers and with the enthusiasts who still restore and use them today.
