Music Tools is an Italian maker of hi-fi furniture and equipment racks, founded in 1997 by the brothers Davide and Cristiano Bastianelli near Pesaro, on Italy's Adriatic coast. Its racks are made in Italy and designed to give audio equipment a stable, low-resonance platform while also looking at home in a living room. The ISOstatic range, a modular, stackable rack, uses shelves of laminated anti-resonant glass, each decoupled from the frame by adjustable brass spikes and rated for heavy equipment. The ISOshelf range offers the same approach at a lower price, and earlier designs such as the Alica rack were also popular. Music Tools has built its reputation on combining clean Italian design with practical vibration control, and its racks are distributed in many European markets. Its products are an example of how the furniture a system sits on is treated as part of the system in high-end audio, alongside dedicated isolation devices.
